When I was pregnant with my LO I was so much excited as like anyone. I was preparing myself to welcome my LO to this world. Everything went fine till I delivered him with very less effort. Not everything will happen as you expected. When I tried to feed him for the first time our bad time starts (both for me and my LO). I had problem with inverted nipple neither I was not aware of such thing when I was pregnant nor my gynac noticed it.
Though my body was producing enough milk for my LO for first few days my LO was given with formula. I was so depressed to see my LO every time crying for food and as a mom I can’t do anything than feeding with formula. Then two days later I was suffering from severe pain due to milk clogging. Then I remembered my Pregnancy time yoga tutor she was also a lactation consultant. When I met her she explained me the problem and which would have been solved during pregnancy. She also motivated me to do breast feeding and taught me how to overcome such complexity. I want to share this information in this blog because I got to know from her that one in ten women face problem during first time feeding and give up feeding just because they are not aware of the solution or they just listen to their surroundings. Trust me every women who delivered their baby has ability to BF. There is no such thing called no supply. For some milk production will start during pregnancy, for some soon after delivery or after a couple of days. Lets see why breastfeeding important for both baby and mom
Makes you newborn feel safe and confident in his new world. After 9months of loyal pamper inside womb your newborn is coming out to this world with no idea. He knows only his mom, He is more familiar with his mom’s smell, voice, tone, etc. Breastfeeding your newborn is not just giving him his food also making him comfortable in his new world. Better relationship and understanding with baby Breastfeeding will make mom will give good bonding with baby. Mom will be able to understand baby’s cues more accurately than bottle fed baby. Initially it may be difficult for mom to know how much baby eats but very soon mom will become expert in judging babies need. Healthy baby Breastmilk provides all essential nutrients required for the baby. The first milk colostrum produced is more essential for baby to fight against allergies and diseases for lifetime. It is also proven that BF babies are less prone to infections like ear infections. Better bone strength. Reduces risk of obesity. Easy to Digest and more active. Healthy Mom Breastfeed will help mom to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetics and the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer. Helps the mom to burn calories faster. Improves emotional health.
Increases immunity Breastfeeding babies will have higher immunity against common fever, cold, viral infections during winter. Just your breastmilk is enough to do magic during their first time fever or cold. You can realize they work for long time to keep baby against same diseases. Faster Post-delivery healing Breastfeeding will release more oxytocin hormones which will help in contraction of uterus soon and your postpartum bleeding will be reduced. Avoid new born consuming chemical preservatives If the baby is not on BF then the only option is to feed with Formula. Baby should not be fed with cow’s milk until one year because of the digestion related problems which may cause serious stomach infection. There are also other reasons like where cow’s milk does not have sufficient nutrients for the new born. So we need to go with Formula which are been fortified with calcium, iron and other essentials. But ultimately we are going to feed your baby with chemical preservatives and stuffs along with the essential. Less Constipation related problems You can ask any experienced mom about the problem related to constipation in baby. It would have been one of the bothersome period in newborn lifecycle. New born digestive tracts are not fully functional during when most of the baby will face constipation problem. The Formula fed babies are more prone the have constipation during their newborn lifetime. No gift can be better When we are expecting our baby soon to the world we will do lot of things to welcome him. We will buy all his necessary stuffs, toys, we want to decorate his room, etc., but the best gift you can give your LO for his knowledge would be your liquid love. Feel Momminess This is just out my experience I am writing I felt a kind of momminess because of BF. Emotional maturity and inner responsibility for your kid seems to be developed by BF. Yes Please Rethink before Bottle feeding ur LO.
